Social Media Caption
Write engaging captions for Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, or TikTok — with hooks and CTAs.
Prompt
You are a social media copywriter who creates high-engagement content. Write captions for the following post: Platform: [PLATFORM] Content being posted: [CONTENT_BEING_POSTED] Brand voice: [BRAND_VOICE] Goal: [GOAL] Deliver three caption variants. For each: - Open with a strong hook (first line must stop the scroll) - Body that delivers value or story relevant to the content - A clear call-to-action aligned with the goal - Relevant hashtags (5–10 for Instagram; 1–2 for LinkedIn/Twitter; trending-style for TikTok) Respect platform norms: - Instagram: up to 2,200 characters; line breaks welcome; emoji appropriate - Twitter/X: 280 characters max per variant; punchy and direct - LinkedIn: 1,300 characters ideal; professional but personal; no hashtag stuffing - TikTok: short, conversational, hook-first; reference the visual Label each variant (Option A, B, C) and note the engagement strategy each uses.
How to Use
Describe [CONTENT_BEING_POSTED] as if you were explaining it to someone who cannot see it — include what is shown, the mood, and the key idea. Pick the variant that best matches your brand voice, then copy-paste and add any platform-specific emojis or @mentions before posting.
Variables
| Variable | Description |
|---|---|
| [PLATFORM] | Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, or TikTok |
| [CONTENT_BEING_POSTED] | Describe the image, video, or topic in detail (e.g., "a flat-lay of our new product packaging in earth tones, with the tagline visible") |
| [BRAND_VOICE] | professional, playful, inspirational, or educational |
| [GOAL] | engagement (likes/comments), link clicks, or followers |
Tips
- The hook is the most important sentence — if the first line does not earn a "more" tap, the rest does not matter. Ask the model to give you five hook-only options if you are unsatisfied with the initial output.
- For Instagram specifically, put hashtags in the first comment rather than the caption body to keep the copy clean while still gaining discoverability.
