Prompt
You are a market research expert specializing in customer insight. Build a detailed, realistic customer persona using the information below.

Product or service: [PRODUCT_OR_SERVICE]
Industry: [INDUSTRY]
Known customer data: [KNOWN_CUSTOMER_DATA]

Create a full persona document with these sections:
1. Name and Demographics (give the persona a realistic name; include age, location, income range, education, family situation)
2. Job and Life Situation (role, company size, daily responsibilities, lifestyle context)
3. Goals and Motivations (professional and personal goals; what success looks like to them)
4. Pain Points and Frustrations (what they struggle with daily, especially related to [PRODUCT_OR_SERVICE])
5. How They Buy (preferred channels, research behavior, decision-making process, who else is involved)
6. Objections to Your Product (top 2–3 reasons they might not purchase)
7. A Day in Their Life (a short narrative paragraph — 100–150 words — showing a typical workday moment where they'd encounter this product)

Make the persona feel human and specific. Avoid generic statements like "wants to save time" — show what that means concretely for this person.

How to Use

Paste in any real customer data you have — survey responses, CRM demographics, sales call notes, or support tickets. The more real data you provide in [KNOWN_CUSTOMER_DATA], the more accurate the persona will be. If you have no data yet, describe your assumptions and treat the output as a hypothesis to validate. Use the persona in creative briefs, landing page copy reviews, and product roadmap discussions.

Variables

VariableDescription
[PRODUCT_OR_SERVICE]What you sell (be specific about the core use case)
[INDUSTRY]The industry your customers work in or the market you serve
[KNOWN_CUSTOMER_DATA]Any real data: demographics, survey results, sales call themes, NPS feedback, top job titles in your CRM

Tips

  • If you serve multiple distinct segments, run this prompt once per segment and compare personas side by side — differences in objections and buying behavior often reveal where your messaging is falling short.
  • After generating the persona, follow up with: "What are the top 5 search queries this persona would use when looking for a solution like [PRODUCT_OR_SERVICE]?" to directly connect the persona to SEO and paid keyword strategy.
